Baha'i Inspired Meditation

The Baha'i Faith teaches that all humanity is one family, that all the religions teach the same basic spiritual truths, and that we all can feel the presence of the same God/Spirit/Essence which is known by many names.  Mindfulness Meditation practices, which have their roots in Buddhism, are not religious practices.  They are skillful means which can be utilized by people of all faiths and of no faith.  In Baha'i Inspired Meditation, I teach Embodied Mindfulness in the context of passages from the Baha'i Writings. Everyone is welcome.  Contact me if you would like to attend.

~ Every person is a source of Divine Light ~

"O SON OF BEING!   Thou art My lamp and My light is in thee. Get thou from it thy radiance and seek none other than Me. For I have created thee rich and have bountifully shed My favor upon thee." - Bahá'u'lláh

Unity ~

“If you desire with all your heart, friendship with every race on earth, your thought, spiritual and positive, will spread; it will become the desire of others, growing stronger and stronger, until it reaches the minds of all men... Do not despair! Work steadily. Sincerity and love will conquer hate... Show love to all; 'Love is the breath of the Holy Spirit in the heart of Man.'" - Abdu'l-Bahá

~ We have the capacity for radiant acquiesence ~

"The confirmations of the spirit are all those powers and gifts with which some are born…, but for which others have to strive with infinite pains. They come to that man or woman who accepts his life with radiant acquiescence."  - ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

~ All created things are transient ~

"Sever your hearts from all transitory things, from all idle fancies and vain imaginings, that ye may, pure and unsullied, enter the realm of the spirit and partake with radiant hearts of the splendours of everlasting holiness." - Bahá'u'lláh

~ Some aspirations ~

"Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer to the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge. Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech. Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all thine acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring." - Bahá'u'lláh
